May 25, 2010

Agent eX of BareBonesMusic.com recently conducted an interview with Liam Cormier, lead singer of the Canadian hardcore band CANCER BATS. They spoke about the group's newly released third album, "Bears, Mayors, Scraps & Bones", and how it differs musically and lyrically from CANCER BATS' previous efforts. Liam also talked about the reasoning behind the new album's title and the band's name, the bandmembers' involvement in their music videos and their connection to their punk roots. Finally, Liam spoke about his straight-edge lifestyle the song "Trust No One" and how it hits home for the band.

CANCER BATS' latest album, "Bears, Mayors, Scraps & Bones", sold around 600 copies in the United States in its first week of release. The CD landed at position No. 95 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart, which lists the best-selling albums by new and developing artists, defined as those who have never appeared in the Top 100 of The Billboard 200.

"Bears, Mayors, Scraps & Bones" was made available on April 13 via Good Fight Music. CANCER BATS has also released a digital EP containing "Scared to Death" and its take on the BEASTIE BOYS classic "Sabotage". The EP is available on iTunes right now.

CANCER BATS will team up with AS I LAY DYING, UNDEROATH, BETWEEN THE BURIED AND ME, BLESSTHEFALL, THE ACACIA STRAIN, ARCHITECTS and WAR OF AGES for the inaugural Cool Tour in July.
